“Popinjay has made me appreciate the true worth of what I wear and carry!”
Hira was born in Karachi, Pakistan, but moved to the Middle East at a very young age. She grew up in Qatar, where she went to Carnegie Mellon University for her undergrad. Throughout her life, she has maintained a strong connection with her Pakistani roots and cultural heritage. Inspired by Popinjay’s vision, she aims to support her local artisans in a meaningful way. Fortunate to have received quality education abroad, Hira is keen to provide equal opportunities to women, enabling them to realise their dreams and to bring a positive change in their lives.
Outside her full-time job, she is involved with the local community serving as a member of the Global Shapers Community, Arab Women in Computing Association (ArabWIC), and How Women Work Community. During her free time, Hira enjoys shopping, reading, baking and traveling.
